Schoeps MK 41S Grey Capsule (Supercardioid)

The matte grey MK 41S Microphone Capsule from Schoeps attenuates reverberant sound and is less prone to feedback due to great directivity. The rolloff of its low-frequency response is offset by proximity effect at close working distances.

This capsule has a low-frequency rolloff built in, to compensate for proximity effect and to reduce pickup of room noise. It is mainly used for speech at close range (e.g. 20cm or less) when clarity and intelligibility of the spoken word is the primary requirement. Even speech pickup at moderate distances can sound thin and bright.
